Nothing is impossible: quotes from three great Americans about success

Hello, dear readers!

As promised in the last post, today we will tell you about a person who knows how to make the unrealistic happen.

We will introduce you to a man whose motto was the following words: “ Nothing is impossible .”

18 years is exactly how long it took William Boeing to make his name synonymous with aviation. How many years have you been planning to realize your dream?

He turned romance into a profitable business when everyone treated it as entertainment.

“The attitude of society in aeronautics today is such that if anyone expresses hope in its prospects, it will be tantamount to an admission of his own madness ...” Scientific American magazine, 1910.

How many ideas have you discarded that seemed unrealistic?

Life's dream and first defeat

William Boeing was born into a wealthy family of a timber merchant. It would seem that material well-being should not push one to take any action. After all, everything is fine.

But when William learned in 1903 about the Wright brothers, who had proven that a person could soar in the sky, thoughts of flight haunted him.

After 3 years, he has the opportunity to fulfill his dream - he gets to the convention of American aviators in Los Angeles. But, despite persuasion, none of the pilots wanted to take him as a passenger. This hit Boeing's pride hard, but at the same time he understood what he would do in the next 20 years.

You're right

“If you think you are capable of something, you are right; if you are sure that nothing will work out for you, you are also right.”

Henry Ford is a great American industrialist and inventor, creator of the Ford automobile. From his name comes the name of such a political economic phenomenon as Fordism, the source of which was the inventor’s book “My Life, My Achievements.”

As with Hill, Ford's personality suggests that nothing is impossible. The quote belonging to him has the following meaning: all great achievements begin in the head. It is enough to believe in your strengths and capabilities, and then success will be guaranteed.

Meeting with a partner

When you wholeheartedly wish for your dream to come true, fate will definitely give you the necessary meetings. This happened with Boeing. A chance meeting with military sailor George Conrad Westervelt determined the future fate of world aviation.

Together they made their first airplane - a seaplane, which was named by their initials B & W. Here is what William Boeing said about this time:

We, as pioneers, landed on an unfamiliar shore, invaded a sphere where any of our new ideas deserved that everyone could confidently declare: “This cannot be.” And yet we had to do the impossible. We tried our best to turn everything we thought was necessary into reality.

You decide

“The person you are destined to become is only the person you choose to become.” The author of this statement is Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American essayist, philosopher and social activist. He is considered one of the great thinkers in US history.

Waldo attended Harvard, where he studied theology. He was the first to formulate the philosophy of transcendentalism, the main issues of which are the themes of freedom, personality, and the relationship between the human soul and nature.

God can do the impossible

Each of us has to face difficult situations in our lives, and each time God asks: “Do you think that your problem is too difficult for Me to solve? Or do you believe that I can perform a miracle for you, even if it seems impossible?”

Jesus tells us, “What is impossible with men is possible with God” (Luke 18:27). Do you believe this word from the Lord? Do you accept that God can do the impossible in your marriage, in your family, in your job, in your future?

We boldly proclaim God's power into the lives of others, but not into our own.

Believe in God's miracles

It is not enough to simply believe that God is the Creator and Maker of everything. We must also believe that He is a God who longs to do the impossible in our lives. The Bible is very clear: if we don't believe this, we don't believe Him at all.

In my opinion, no amount of advice will benefit a person if he doubts God’s miracles.

As a pastor who counsels, I know that I have nothing to offer a couple unless they believe that God can save their relationship. The situation can seem absolutely hopeless: years of accumulated grievances and bitterness are behind us. But spouses must be convinced that God can do the impossible.

Nothing in your life is beyond His ability to arrange and arrange. Your Christianity is futile if you believe in God only up to a certain point. You don't truly believe that He is the God of the impossible.

Freeing the Possessed Boy

Mark 9 tells how a desperate father brought his demon-possessed son to Jesus' disciples, seeking deliverance. This boy wasn't just restless or violent. He was possessed by evil spirits who controlled his every move. The whole neighborhood had heard about his condition more than once, so when those around him saw him approaching, they probably hastily herded their children into the house.

This unfortunate boy was considered absolutely hopeless. He was deaf and dumb and could only make guttural sounds, frothed like a mad dog, and his body was only skin and bones due to exhaustion from this terrible struggle. His father had to be near him all the time, as demons constantly tried to throw the boy into a nearby river, lake or open fire, wanting to kill him.

How many times did this father have to throw himself into the water and pull his son out of it in order to bring him to consciousness. It was necessary to watch around him around the clock simply to prevent the child from killing himself. Imagine how many scars and burns there were on this boy’s exhausted body. The father's heart must have been tormented by the realization of his own powerlessness.

As the father stood before the disciples, Satan began to manifest himself in the boy's body. He began to emit foam and roll on the ground, bending and spinning wildly. Scripture says that the disciples prayed over him, perhaps for a long time, but nothing happened.

Soon a crowd of doubting scribes gathered, asking: “Why is the boy not healed? Is this case too difficult for your Lord? Is the devil more powerful?

But then Jesus Christ appeared. When He asked what was happening, the father replied, “I brought my son to Your disciples, but they could not heal him. It's a hopeless case." Jesus simply said in response: “If you are able to believe, all things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23).

Christ said to those present: “Do you think that I can handle any situation except those controlled by the devil? I tell you, there is no problem or circumstance that I cannot handle.”

Then, with just one word, Jesus made the impossible possible: “…(He) rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “A dumb and deaf spirit!” I command you, come out of it and do not enter it again” (Mark 9:25). At that moment the boy fell to the ground as if dead. But the Scripture says, “Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up; and he stood up” (Mark 9:27).

Can you imagine the joy of those watching this scene? The boy must have run up to his father after his release and hugged him. The father's heart rejoiced with joy. God worked it out.

There are no unsolvable problems

Why is this story included in the Gospel? Perhaps so that every parent knows that God is able to do the impossible with their children.

You may think that your unsaved husband is hopeless, that he will never come to Jesus. Or you have already given up all hope of keeping your wife, who is leaving you. But I know many Christian spouses today who testify: “I have been praying for my significant other for years. Then one day, when I had already lost hope, God intervened. He saved my dear husband/dear wife and restored our family.”

We should never give up on anyone because with our Lord nothing is impossible.

God can bring the dead back to life

Mark chapter five tells the story of Jairus, a desperate synagogue leader who asked Jesus to heal his daughter. A twelve-year-old girl was dying, and Jairus begged Christ to come to his house and lay hands on her.

Jesus agreed to go with him. But first He stopped along the way to heal a woman who was suffering from a blood issue. At this time, a messenger came with tragic news: Jairus’s daughter had already died. The messenger said to the leader of the synagogue: “Your daughter is dead; Why else are you bothering the Teacher?” (Mark 5:35).

Jairus's heart sank with grief. He thought, “If only we had gotten there on time. And now it's too late. My daughter died." But Jesus encouraged him: “Do not be afraid, only believe” (Mark 5:36).

When they approached Jairus's house, they heard lamentations and crying. These were Jairus's family and friends grieving over the girl. Imagine the absurdity of the scene: there was God in the flesh, the Creator of the Universe, capable of doing anything imaginable, and they were crying out in His presence. With their crying, these people seemed to be saying: “God can only help when at least some sign of hope remains. But when all life is gone, there is no more need to call Him. Even He couldn’t help in this kind of situation.”

How many Christians today no longer cry out to the Lord because they think their problem is hopeless! Many trust in God only until something dies in their life. I don't mean the physical death of a person. I'm talking about the death of a marriage, a relationship, a dream, a hope—everything in your life that you say, “It can't be fixed, changed, or restored.”

Jesus condemned such unbelief. He said to that weeping crowd in Jairus’s house, “Why are you troubled and crying? The maiden is not dead, but sleeps” (Mark 5:39). Then He entered the room where this little girl lay and with one simple word brought the child back to life: “And the girl immediately arose and began to walk...” (Mark 5:42).

This story is included in the Gospel of Mark to show us that nothing is so “dead” or too far gone that God cannot bring it back to life. He says, “Rely on Me to solve your problem. It is never too late for Me to act.”

Our God is a God of miracles

Are you having financial problems, unable to pay your bills? This was the case with the Lord’s disciples - and He supernaturally resolved this situation. Jesus sent Peter to fish and told him that he would find a coin in the mouth of the first fish he caught and that coin would cover the amount of the tax levied.

I believe Jesus was working supernaturally here to show His children that He could handle any financial problem, any family crisis, any greatest need.

He wanted us to know that He is the same God who commanded the raven to feed Elijah. Who made it so that the widow’s tub of flour did not run out. Who saved another widow from her creditors by filling large vessels with oil from a small jug. Who fed a crowd of five thousand, and later another crowd of four thousand, with a few fish and loaves of bread. God knew that there would be times in our lives when nothing short of a miracle would help. And He wants to assure us that He can do the impossible.

At one time I gave up on homosexuals, believing that they were incapable of changing. All of our drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs worked, but I saw very few victories among homosexuals.

Then the Lord began to send me testimonies of homosexuals who were delivered from their bondage. I also received news of other people becoming free from unimaginable sexual perversions.

Today I say to everyone who is deeply and heartily in love with Jesus: if you want freedom, then God is able to give it, no matter how strong the opposition. The Lord can break a bad habit and set you free.

However, you must believe that nothing in life is impossible for God. There is no devil's grip that He cannot break.

So, dear friend, trust that God will completely change and transform your life. If He provided for a poor widow, freed a demon-possessed boy, and raised Jairus' daughter, He can help you too. Our God is able to do the impossible and restore absolutely everything. Hallelujah!
