Those whose hearts need consolation are those whom the Imam considers necessary to bring to agreement in the interests of Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) distributed some of the alms and spoils among such to achieve goals related to the spread of Islam or to prevent possible harm to Muslims.

They were deprived of this under Caliph Abu Bakr on the advice of Omar (may Allah be pleased with both of them), when the latter explained to the Caliph that such issuance of Zakat was a temporary measure in the interests of Islam. And now that Allah has made Islam powerful, this is no longer necessary.

Some Ulama believe that the imam’s right to do this remains until the Day of Judgment, and if he deems it necessary to provide part of the Zakat to those who need to be united in the interests of Islam, he can do so.

To free slaves , raise their level from slavery to freedom. The era of slavery is now over.

Those who are burdened with debts and do not have the means to pay them off - provided that the reason for the debt is not related to any sin.

To serve Allah , these are those who gave themselves to conquest and holy war for faith.

Wanderers /wayfarers/, cut off from their property, regardless of whether they are rich or poor in their own country.

The issuance of Zakat to anyone from these eight categories is subject to special conditions for each category. The recipient of Zakat must be a free Muslim, must not be from the clans of Gyashim and Mutalib, and must also be an adult, intelligent and of good behavior,

These categories, as well as the size and type of Sunset, are determined by the actual conditions in each country.

Sunset is a way to prevent the spread of principles that cause hatred of the rich and of society. This is the path to establishing love and harmony between people, between the poor and the rich, who live in conditions of social cooperation.

Zakat aims to maintain a person's mental health when a person is happy by giving away part of his property and thereby participating in building a happy society

A person experiences satisfaction when he sees happy and smiling faces around him, cleanses his soul, calms his heart and becomes immune to worries and anxieties. The psychiatrist scientist Dreiser speaks about this: “If a person wants to enjoy life, he must benefit others. The joy of the individual is based on the pleasure of others, and the joy of others is based on the joy of the individual.”

Sunset also helps free a person from excessive love for material goods, the same love that almost always leads a person to illness and sometimes to suicide.

Stinginess and hoarding are the path that leads to excessive love for material goods. And what best helps to fight this kind of love, if not generosity, generosity and readiness to give.

The most striking manifestation of a person’s excessive love for wealth is his refusal to live a worthy life; moreover, it can be the reason that a person becomes inattentive to the affairs of his family and even faith. This is how it happened with Saalba Bin Khatib, when he came to our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: “O Prophet, call on Allah and ask him to give me wealth.” The Prophet answered him: “Woe to you, Saalba, a small thing for which you will be grateful is better than a big one, which you cannot bear.” Once again he asked Saalb and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Don’t you want to be like the Prophet? If I wish for mountains of gold for myself, they will be mine.” Saalba replied: “If you ask Allah, and he gives me wealth, I will give everyone who is entitled to his share.” And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) helped him, and Saalba received sheep, and his wealth began to grow so much that it became cramped for him in Medina.

Then he began to observe only midday and afternoon prayers. His wealth further increased, and he began to pray only on Friday. And he had barely decided to give up Friday prayers when the Prophet said three times: “Oh Mount Saalb.” And the words of the Almighty descended upon him: “Take alms from your property, with which you will cleanse and justify them.” And the Prophet sent to Saalba for Sunset, but Saalba said: “What is this if not the same tax.” And a sacred revelation came down: “And among them there are those who have made a covenant with Allah: “If He gives us from His generosity, then we, of course, will give alms, and, of course, we will be righteous.” When He gave them from His generosity, they began to be stingy with it and turned away, avoiding. And He gave them as a companion hypocrisy in their hearts until the day they meet Him, because they deceived Allah in what they promised Him and because they lied. Did they know that Allah knows their secrets and hidden conversations and that Allah is the Knower of the unseen.” /Sura: “At-Tawba”/.

When this reached Saalba, he came with Zakat, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Truly, Allah has forbidden me to accept from you.” So the Prophet along with Allah did not accept from him and the caliphs Abu Bakr, Omar and Osman followed this.

Saalba died under Caliph Osman, overcome by excessive love of wealth, not observing prayer and not paying Zakat. And his account is now known only to Allah.

Sunset is nothing more than a means of immunizing a person against excessive love of wealth, which can take possession of him to one degree or another, and guaranteeing him against this disease

Sunset is different in that it is not alms or kindness. This is due, and when the poor man takes it, he feels that it is a tax of brotherhood, that it is the right of the poor man to take from him who can give.

Zakat differs from other taxes paid in the timing of its payment. Zakat in Islam is paid once a year, except for Zakat on plants and fruits, which is paid at harvest. If Zakat had to be paid every day, or every week, or every month, it would harm the capital, and the one who pays would not pay it generously and with satisfaction. Just as the obligatory payment of it once in a lifetime would harm those in need for whom Zakat is intended. There is nothing fairer than the specified terms for the payment of Zakat.

As well as the small qualification required to pay Zakat, which allows the widest sections of the population to participate in the expenses of society, which spreads love and harmony between people.

Zakat is one of the most important factors in the distribution of wealth, its transfer from hand to hand among different segments of the population and the creation of new wealth.

Some Western scholars recognize the positive aspects of the Sunset Institute. For example, Masignon writes: “Islam has a certain perfection that makes it persistent in implementing the idea of ​​equality. This is achieved through Zakat, which each person must pay into the treasury. He opposes haphazard barter and the accumulation of wealth, and he also combats rising interest debts and hidden taxes on essential goods. And at the same time, he stands on the side of private property and commercial capital. Thus, Islam, once again, occupies a middle position between capitalism and communism.”

These are just a few of Sunset's goals, as it is impossible to cover them all. Just as it is impossible to describe all the benefits that he strives for, and which cover an individual, population groups, the entire society as a whole and the state, the private and public sectors, all aspects of life.

This is the order that Allah (praise be to Him Almighty) established in the last of the religions. As for the reward for him on the Last Day, Allah promised those who pay Zakat a great reward.

Thus, Zakat is one of the main pillars of Islam and strives for the good of man in this life and for the great reward on the Last Day.

“Indeed, this Qur’an leads to what is straighter, and proclaims the message to the believers who do good deeds, which is a great reward for them” / Surah Al-Israa /.

SUNSET

The word Zakat translated from Arabic means purification, multiplication.

Zakat is one of the main pillars of Islam concerning relationships between people. In the Koran it is mentioned after the obligatory prayer. Zakat is associated with the rights of the poor and weak to share in the property of the rich and people of fortune.

Doubting the prescription of Zakat is considered as apostasy.

Zakat is a practical expression of mercy, help and sympathy, which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) pointed out in his famous hadith: “Believers who show friendship, mercy and sympathy to each other are like one body - if one part of it hurts, then the whole body hurts.”

From the point of view of Islam, a person’s property is the property of Allah (praise be to Him Almighty). As the Holy Quran says: “And give them from the wealth of Allah what He has given you ”

/Sura “An-Nur”/. Islam believes that Allah has given people property and they must be worthy heirs of the real Owner in the use and handling of property, as Allah says in the Quran: “And spend what He has made you heirs!” /Sura “Al-Hadid”/.

Islam established the rights of the poor and weak to share in the wealth of the rich. This is stated in the Koran as follows: “In property, of which there is a certain right for the one who asks and is deprived.” /Sura “Al-Ma'arif”/. The Koran also says: “And in their wealth there was a share for the one who asks and the one who is deprived.” /Sura: “Az-Zariat”/. He established this right, considering it a share in the property of the rich, which should not prohibit those who ask and are deprived, who have this right, from receiving this share.

Islam has laid a magnificent and important foundation for the implementation of social justice among people, so that all the slaves of Allah have the inheritance that Allah has bestowed upon them. Having looked at how Zakat is distributed among those eight categories of people who should receive it, we see that Zakat aims to provide for those in need, so that there is no one begging or deprived in Islamic society. If Zakat does not fully fulfill this good goal, Islam indicates, according to the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “There is still a share in the property besides Zakat.” This tradition explains what the Holy Qur'an says in many verses about encouraging the spending of wealth for the sake of Allah and to increase the benefit of those who spend from what Allah has endowed them with.

The Qur'an warns stingy people of punishment for concealing property from the servants of Allah, and the Muslim is warned against stinginess, which causes hatred among the poor and weak.

By this perfect Islamic way, human society protects itself from the revolution of the hungry and deprived and preserves itself from violence and bloodshed.

Thus, social justice becomes the basis for ensuring peace, justice and love among the slaves of Allah.

The sunset is the best evidence of Islam's concern for social justice and that social security is ensured only under the auspices of Islam.

“Happy are the believers who are humble in their prayers, who avoid idle talk, and who perform purification (i.e., pay Zakat).” /Sura “Al-Mu'minun”/

ZADT IS THE THIRD PRINCIPLE OF ISLAM

Allah, praise be to Him Almighty, has prescribed Zakat for Muslims, which is often mentioned in the Qur’an: “... and maintain prayer and pay Zakat, whatever good you prepare for yourselves, you will find it with Allah: for Allah sees what you do.” / Surah “Al-Baqarah”/.

“...and maintain prayer, and offer Zakat, and lend a good loan to Allah. Whatever good you prepare ahead for yourselves, you will find it with Allah better and greater in reward” / Surah Al-Muzammel /

“So perform prayer, give purification and cling to Allah. He is your patron. And the patron is wonderful, and the helper is wonderful!” / Surah “Hajj”/.

Sunset is mentioned in about thirty-two verses of the holy Qur'an and in most cases is associated with the mention of Prayer, which confirms the importance attached to Sunset in the Qur'an.

Allah, praise be to Him Almighty, has promised a great reward to those who pay Zakat. For example, in the following verse of the Koran: “... and those who persist in prayer, and those who give purification, and those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, to these We will give a great reward.” /Sura “An-Nisaa”/.

And what could be greater than the mercy of Allah that He bestows on us. The Almighty says: “... and My mercy will embrace every thing. Therefore, I will write it down to those who fear God, give purification and who believe in Our signs.” /Sura “Al-Aaraf”/.

“And believing men and believing women, they are friends of one another - they encourage what is accepted and restrain from what is disapproved, they maintain prayer and give purification, they obey Allah and His Messenger - Allah will have mercy on these; for Allah is Great and Wise.” /Sura “At-Tawba”/.

As for those who do not pay Zakat, the punishment for them is severe. As Allah, praise be to Him Almighty, says: “Say: I am a man like you, I was told that your God is one God. So rush straight to Him and ask Him for forgiveness and woe to the polytheists who do not give the purification tax and do not believe in the hereafter.” /Sura “Fussilat”/.

“Woe to those who pray, who neglect their prayers, who are hypocrites and refuse alms.” /Sura. “Al-Ma'un”/. And alms, according to most alims, is Zakat.

Allah says: “And those who collect gold and silver and do not spend it in the path of Allah - make them happy with a painful punishment on the day when it will be kindled in the fire of Gehenna and their foreheads, and sides, and ridges will be branded with it! This is what you have saved for yourself. Taste what you have saved!” / Surah “At-Tawba”/.

Wealth is property from which Zakat is not paid, even if it is hidden. As for the property from which Zakat is paid, it is not hidden wealth, even if it is buried in the ground.

Says the Almighty, praise be to Him: “And let not those who are stingy with the mercies given to them by Allah think that this is better for them, No, this is worse for them! They will be surrounded by a necklace of what they skimped on on the Day of Resurrection.” /Sura “Al-Imran”/.

Stinginess is abstaining from giving Zakat from the benefits bestowed by Allah. Zakat is one of the conditions for accepting repentance from idolaters and ending the war against them. This is stated in the Koran: “And when the forbidden months are over, then beat the polytheists wherever you find them, capture them, besiege them, ambush them in every hidden place! If they turned and performed prayer and gave purification, then make way for them - after all, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful!” /Sura “At-Tawba”/.

The sunset is also proof of their acceptance of Islam and the establishment of brotherly relations with them. The Koran says: “And if they repented and performed the prayer and gave Zakat, then they are your brothers in religion.” /Sura “At-Tawba”/.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in numerous hadiths calls us to pay Zakat.

For example, the hadith tells how he stood among the people and said: “O people, this is what was revealed to me from my Lord. He said to me in a dream: “Muhammad, he who does not pay Zakat does not pray, and he who does not pray does not pay Zakat. Those who do not pay Sunset will burn in fire, just like those who violate its rules.”

Or in another hadith, which determined that Zakat is one of the foundations of Islam and one of its pillars, it is said: “... Islam is based on five pillars - shahada, i.e. pronouncing the words of confession of faith /there is no god but Allah, Muhammad is His prophet/, performing prayer, paying Zakat, fasting for the month of Ramadan and making pilgrimages to holy places.”

Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), when sending his messengers to call for Islam, ordered them to first call people to the worship of Allah, and then to pay Zakat, levied from the rich for the benefit of the poor.

This is what he ordered Maaz, sending him to Yemen: “You are going to a tribe of people who have the Book. The first thing you call them to is the worship of Allah Almighty. If they recognize Allah, inform them that the Almighty has ordered them to pay Zakat from the wealth of the rich in favor of the poor. If they submit to this, beware of the most valuable of their possessions and guard yourself from the call of the oppressed to Allah, for there is no veil between their call and Allah.”

Whoever refuses to pay Zakat is an infidel who must repent or must be killed as a disobedient one. This is how Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) acted with the apostates when they stopped paying Zakat. He said: “I swear by Allah, if they do not pay me what they paid the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), I will go to war against them.” And he ordered to oppose them with the words: “I swear by Allah, I will kill everyone who makes the difference between Prayer and Sunset.”
