The Legend of the Sunset
Once upon a time, there lived a young man and a girl who loved each other so strongly, tenderly, beautifully and devotedly that they involuntarily aroused envy among people. But human anger and envy began to pursue them, and unable to resist the evil machinations, the lovers left the people. The young man became the blue sea, and the girl became the red sun. And only at sunset the sea and the sun come into contact with each other. The young man tenderly sings his favorite song of the waves, and the girl tenderly hugs him with her rays.
Legends are passed down from generation to generation because people want to believe in them. The legend about the sea and the sun, about a beautiful sunset shows us the holiness of love, its fidelity, its beauty.
Charming sunrises
Watching sunrises is much more difficult than sunsets. After all, to do this you need to get up very early and get to the place where it is best to watch the sunrise. And it’s often cold in the morning!
Moreover, you need to arrive not at the time of dawn indicated for this area and this time of year. And at least half an hour earlier. After all, the most beautiful things happen minutes before the sun pops over the horizon.
Traveling around the world, we have come to different places at sunrise many times. And we don’t regret that we had to get up before dawn, drive somewhere in the dark, or even walk uphill in the dark.
Sunrises in nature
I'll start with the most beautiful sunrises in nature that we have seen.
1. Mesa Arc, USA
Dawn over the canyons
To see the sunrise at Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park, we had to get up an hour and a half before dawn and drive along a dark road from the city of Moab, where we spent the night, to the very edge of the big canyon.
2. Ahu Tongariki, Easter Island
Dawn on Easter Island
To see the beautiful sunrise with the Easter Island idols, we had to get up long before it started. We woke up in complete darkness and rode from our campsite on a rented motorbike to the other end of the island. This sunrise photo was taken on the way to Tongariki Bay.
3. Death Valley, USA
The sun rises from Telescope Peak
It's not that far to get to Zabriskie Point in Death Valley if you spend the night at a campsite or lodge in the park itself. However, this time we chose a hotel and had to travel very far from Las Vegas.
And although the sun does not rise so conveniently, the badlands are illuminated in a very interesting way and are transformed!
We've seen the sunrise at Zabriskie Point twice already!
Sunrises at the temples
It is especially interesting to watch sunrises over the beautiful valleys from the hills. The spiers of the temples at dawn look very impressive in the foggy haze.
1. Bagan, Myanmar
Bagan is considered one of the iconic sunrise spots in Southeast Asia
Just like in Turkish Cappadocia, in Bagan hot air balloons fly at dawn and fly over the ancient pagodas of the old city. To arrive on time, you also need to get up early. It's good that all the hotels are located around the pagoda archaeological park.
2. Angkor Wat, Cambodia
The silhouette of Angkor Wat is depicted on the coat of arms of Cambodia
To watch the sunrises on the grounds of the Angkor Wat temple in Siem Reap, you should hire a tukker to take you to the temple and wait while you admire the beauty of the scenery. That’s exactly what we did, and we also traveled by ourselves, renting a motorbike.
3. Mrauk-U, Myanmar
Foggy dawn in Myanmar
We observed an amazing gray dawn over the pagodas of the ancient city of Mrauk-U on one of the days we spent in this distant and amazing city of Myanmar.
4. Chiang Saen, Thailand
Dawn on the Mekong in Thailand
Another dawn of ours in Southeast Asia, which would be a shame not to mention. There are many temples in the ancient city of Chiang Saen, but we woke up in the morning and went out to the Mekong, from where the temples were not visible. But we saw the great river and don’t regret that we didn’t go to the sunset-dawn hill.
Sunrises in the mountains
Watching sunrises in the mountains is especially interesting. All the beauty of awakening nature appears before you in its best form, and you are left alone with it in these morning hours.
1. Machu Picchu, Peru
Machu Picchu in the dawn fog
On the way to Machu Picchu we experienced many difficulties. However, we got to the Inca ruins themselves from our hotel in the dark and climbed up the stairs to them on foot by the time the sun had already illuminated the ancient city and the mountains were shrouded in a foggy haze.
2. Chiang Dao, Thailand
Hills of Thailand at dawn
We were in no hurry to get to this dawn. In the city of stars, Chiang Dao, we watched a foggy sunrise right from our hotel while having breakfast.
3. Shenandoah Park, USA
Sunrise in the Blue Mountains of Shenandoah
To see the sunrise in the mountains of Shenandoah National Park in the US, we packed up our tent early and headed to the Bearfence Loop trailhead to climb the hill. We barely made it!
But we understood why the Appalachians are called the Blue Mountains
We are used to the national parks of the West, but in the eastern United States, it turns out, there are also many beautiful natural reserves.
4. Great Smoky Mountains, USA
Sunrise on Mount Balsam in the Great Smoky Mountains
In the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, we admired the smoky sunrise every day, but one day we were lucky and saw the sun through the clouds.
And it was usually like this
5. Mount Rainier Park, USA
Mount Rainier looks especially beautiful at sunrise
Mount Rainier in Washington state seemed less formidable at sunrise as we drove along the serpentine road to begin one of the beautiful trails overlooking Rainier.
What is the beauty of a sunset?
In the steppe or at sea, where the horizon line is best visible, you can watch the sunset. The description of this phenomenon, when the sun illuminates the clouds from below, making them pinkish, is exciting. Another sultry summer day is dying out. If there are a lot of clouds in the sky, they are painted with all sorts of colors - from bright yellow to blue-red.
This is a beautiful sight, exciting and inspiring at the same time. It doesn’t last long, but you want to remember it forever. To remember the beauty of the sky at sunset, the description of which gives us a charming fairy tale. It is at these moments that a smile, tender and dreamy, appears on your face. And the sunset seems to open the door to a summer night, quiet, warm and incredibly beautiful. Yellow-orange sunsets usually occur after rain, when the atmosphere is clear. It turns red when the air is overloaded with foreign particles. We often see such a decline in polluted cities.
A beautiful description of a sunset is sometimes impossible due to a thick layer of dust through which the sun cannot break through. It just disappears without touching the horizon.
And over time, a person’s memory fails him, and he strives to preserve a beautiful picture of the sunset in photographs and paintings, where that very beautiful moment will remain with him forever.
Popular poems about sunset
What to do, life will not ask for advice, Sending hundreds of troubles and troubles. Let the sunset threaten with darkness again, The dawn will definitely come to replace it!

And here we have a mother-of-pearl sunset, a pink edge of the sky with a slight haze, wrapped tightly in a starry cloak, the evening hurries towards the night invisible... The night pinned the light of the Moon in her hair, threw the Milky Way over her shoulders, and under the trill of a nightingale's voice she spread a tent over the Earth...

The sunset burns out like a tender peach, The clouds have a purple streak on it, Like a rainbow the sky glows before the night, The colors transform into each other like fire. The edge of the sky is like an ingot of gold, The wider strip is the blush of the cheek, And the greenery weaves into the blue abyss, As if taking all the colors from the river. And above, in purple velvet, a heavenly tent with a silver moon, pearls of stars making up ornaments with zodiac brocade embroidery...

I love the sunset... the harbinger of the night, the earth is preparing to fall asleep and the day, having finished a long journey, goes to bed... the dawn that the eyes are less and less light, and the twilight is already setting in, the gaze gradually fades, the noises have fallen silent... the voices, and here is the gossip moon... the blood-red cheat, playing hide and seek with the darkness, he sneaks along his path deftly, the night absorbs this hour, the sunset falls over the horizon, he is already sleeping so sweetly, at dawn he must meet us.

The sunset spilled with precious wine, Like the tablecloth of heaven stained with blood, Wrapped in a starry cloak at night to the toes, The time of miracles is quietly creeping toward us...

The sun has touched the horizon, the surf is noisy and splashing. On the red canvas of sunset, the sea turns blue with turquoise. The day goes by, and with it worries, the stuffy summer heat subsides. A haze rose above the water like a shaggy foggy cloud. In the distance, on the roadstead, steamships are blowing gray smoke into the sky, For a while, postponing the campaigns, We found temporary peace here. The sparkle of the sunset goes into the sea, taking all the colors with it. And on a wave of steel color, the night world comes into force.

The golden disk of the sun dropped a pink ray into the shaky crystal bay. The wind blows farewell from the heights, losing the golden disk of the sun in the darkness. With a dense, drowsy spirit, the Dream spreads from the mountains into an unsteady crystal bay. The guardian of full-bodied beauty, the Moon has risen, guiding the golden disk of the Sun into the unsteady crystal bay.

she blushed imperceptibly, covering the sky with her palm; the day was reflected somewhere with light on the surface of dark blue waters; it circled like an airy cloud and faded away in the fields; the purple-scarlet dawn filled the soul with anxiety.

The sunset opened like a bud of roses, Flower petals fell into the sky, The last ray of the sun intensified a hundredfold, It spread like fire across the waters of the river...

I silently go into the sunset, Beyond the horizon with the evening sun, What does the evening twilight conceal? Painting the sky with a fiery blush. And the smooth surface of the river reflects all the colors, As if taking away all the colors from the sky, And the sun pours warmth into the air, Sadness, anxiety, vanity go away. The sun spills colors across the sky, And the whisper of the waves in transparent silence Kisses the shore... singing fairy tales, And the clouds in crimson fire. The enchanting sunset makes you shiver, And it’s as if nature is quietly breathing, And even if you whisper something, It seems to me that I won’t hear you.

Again my heart is sad at sunset... The dark contour of the birches... There is a heavenly blue in the shimmer. The sun in the evening seems to say goodbye to the earth forever, To return in the morning - and life begins again!

I love the evening sunset And the horizon with the evening sun, Where the evening twilight melts the sunset colors, the warm light in the window. I walk in the evening, I am obedient to the moment of life, I admire this beauty, I don’t need anyone at this moment. But this moment suddenly passes, When I see your desired image, Everything around immediately changes, Only the foggy sunset remains the same. Sadness goes away and peace in my soul, My soul merges with the moon, The coolness of the evening has overcome the heat, I am coming to you along a narrow path. The sun is shining in the evening. It melts quietly between the branches. The ray will take a twig. He will gently press you to the Sun. The breeze rocks her. Plays with a branch with the Sun. The sun sits on the branches. Another moment, it’s already asleep. Only the sunset is burning in the distance. The horizon of the Earth is visible. The rays of the sun disappear. The clouds are quietly melting. The sky began to darken. The stars burn brighter in it. Here's Sunny's sister Look, here's the Moon. The round disk weighs in the darkness. I feel uncomfortable with her here. There is fog over the river. Enchanted deception. The trees disappear in it, as if they disappear completely. Only frogs talking. A choir can be heard in that fog. Everything on Earth freezes. There is no sun. Everyone falls asleep.

I've always loved watching the sunset. The sun spills colors across the sky. Today, like many years ago, I again plunge into this fairy tale. Having surrendered to the warmth of halftones, I revel in beauty and happiness again. And, having thrown off the burden of earthly shackles, I spread my wings overnight. Closing my eyes, I soar smoothly into the heights and bathe in the clouds, blissfully. Fear whispers to me: “Enough! Come back! But, forgetting about everything, I rise. Holding my breath, I fly to where the stars begin to light up, Where time is decay, where sorrows are water, Where nothing seems serious. And the heart beats loudly in the chest And, anticipating sweet freedom, Hurries to find out what lies ahead, Hurries to fly higher and higher into the sky

The sun sets, and the flying wind has died down, There is not a trace of those clouds pierced with fire; Here, on the outskirts, a living and non-burning ray trembled, illuminating and extinguishing this entire steppe. The sun is gone, there is no day of tireless striving, Only the sunset will burn for a long time, barely visible; Oh, if only heaven would judge without heavy languor. I too, looking back at life, should die!

The sunset pulls us like a magnet with its transparent silence, rocking the vanity of life with a big unknown hand. And in your soul, as in the Temple of God, A little sad, but light, That you comprehend the frailty of the world And the Eternity of Life at the same time.

The sunset roared like a ruby horn and blew crimson fire. And everything that was blue in the sky burned with red ocher in it. The birds flew away in alarm, dropping their feathers high, and the humpbacked bench in the garden moved its warm skin. And our little island floated by, inhaling peace and fire. And tea roses bloomed on the cheekbones of the fading day.
Love for sunsets
After sunset comes night. This is a time of solitude and reflection. What does the new day have in store for us, what will it bring? The description of a sunset touches the most tender strings of a person’s soul, making him romantic and vulnerable. Moreover, it is a way to take a break from the endless bustle, from work and from your own environment. The beauty of a sunset gives strength, cleanses, inspires, and makes you happy.
Describing a sunset gives each of us the opportunity to learn to express our feelings. The sensations that penetrate us during sunset, especially if it happens on the seashore, are the most tender, precious and unique. The surface of the sea is impressive with its beauty, on which at sunset the sun's rays play, forming a path to the sun itself. During sunset, the wind subsides, and nature itself becomes quiet. Daytime life stops for a few minutes; birds, so active during the daytime, hide in their nests and prepare for sleep.
And the sunset of the most beautiful star is almost always accompanied by complete calm. Till tomorrow! And you watch the last seconds of the sun leaving, you watch with the naked eye, because it no longer shines brightly, but, as if fading, disappears into an unknown distance.
Tired Sun
I remember an old and such a tender song performed by Pavel Mikhailov, when the following words are heard under the creaking of an old record: “The weary sun tenderly said goodbye to the sea...” Just one line, but how many feelings there are in it. And now a picture emerges in the memory of each of us when the solar disk disappears beyond the horizon. It is soft, orange-red or bright yellow, fading, elusive, tired. And it’s incredibly beautiful, but also a little sad, because this wonderful summer day is over and will never happen again.
With its daily farewell, the sun, permeating our souls with beauty, gives us the opportunity to learn to see beauty, appreciate every day we live, protect nature, care for it, and adore it. The description of the sunset evokes lyricism and romance. Sometimes sweet melancholy visits you, you relax, your body rests and at the same time gains strength.
