Before us is one of the new products from the Mann, Ivanov and Ferber publishing house, which has already become a bestseller - in this edition. I'm talking about the book: Brian Tracy "Get Out of Your Comfort Zone." Those who actively follow business literature may recall Tracy’s book “Leave Disgust, Eat the Frog!”, which was published several years ago by the Potpourri publishing house. So, this is the same book.
This is not just a book, but a real “magic kick-ass”. And don't look at the fact that it's only 130 pages long. But what kind!
In the book, the author shares with us 21 techniques for increasing personal effectiveness, dwelling on each in more detail and in separate chapters.

In the book, Mr. Tracy brought together 21 methods for increasing personal effectiveness, presenting it in the form of a system. I really liked the openness with which Brian says that he adopted the experience of the best, learned from them, tested it on himself and built the system bit by bit.
HOLIDAY OF THE ABSURD
The very idea that all good things are outside the comfort zone seems absurd by definition. Going beyond comfort, a person begins to experience stress and spend much more energy on maintaining existence, and here he is no longer up to new achievements and solving creative problems. His main task is to survive. Those who call for leaving your comfort zone never warn about the consequences, and the price may be life itself. However, people leave their comfort zone only when there is a need and, as a rule, a big one.
“Get out of your comfort zone” - what impressed you?
There is nothing superfluous in the book, everything is clear, step-by-step and structured. As a caring author, Mr. Tracy after each chapter (each method is a separate chapter) gives a clear “to do” list of what needs to be done. I read it, and immediately go into battle!
Yes, an experienced person may encounter painfully familiar and, in some places, somewhat banal advice in the book. But this is special: it’s one thing to know, and a completely different thing to do.
Now, if you look at how much of the 21st points we actually do, and how well we do it, then everything falls into place.
It’s nice to realize that at one time you came to some methods yourself using the method of the great Russian “scientific poke,” through trial and error. And it’s unpleasant to realize that this could have been avoided by immediately studying (and not just reading) the book being considered today.
I was pleased with the presence of separate formulas, methods, techniques, etc. - this simplifies the process of understanding and memorizing:

The book is really cool, I read it in one sitting, not forgetting to make the necessary notes on how else I could increase my efficiency.
Very easy language and clear explanation of complex things. Who would I recommend this book to? It’s easier to highlight a list of people who should not recommend it, because personal effectiveness is needed by every person who is not a quitter.
TURN OFF YOUR HEAD
Those who believe that to be happy you just need to turn off your head are apparently not friends with it. “Turn off your head from a young age and you will find eternal happiness,” its sellers say. They believe that in order to realize desires, you need to learn to free up space in your head by getting rid of unnecessary thoughts. They don’t understand that “extra thoughts” are just markers, like footprints in the sand. If you get rid of the footprints in the sand, you will not get rid of the person who left them. The metaphor of one’s own head for sellers of unknown happiness is a trash heap from which one can throw out everything that has accumulated there. Probably such people perceive the mind as a hindrance, and one can only sympathize with them.
In everyday life, those who turn off their thoughts with the help of fanatical hobbies, alcohol and drugs actually become dependent on these methods. This is the happiness of slaves who are subordinate to their “master”, surrendering to him with all passion and considering this true freedom.
What to do: turn off your mind or follow it? In different situations - in different ways. Only “developed” natures, living in the trinity of mind, feelings and bodily sensations, can boast of a harmonious solution to this problem. At different stages, the mind, feelings, and bodily sensations can play the first fiddle, or they can recede into the background. To solve some problems, the mind is preferable, to solve others, feelings, but in general it is better to live with the mind in accordance with your feelings.
Feelings can be no less dangerous than thoughts, especially when they overwhelm us. I think the advice “Never make important decisions when you're excited” is very reasonable. In this case, the picture of the world is distorted: it seems to you that the sea is knee-deep. And you can make risky actions and purchases, which sellers often use, especially sellers of trainings and religious cults, sects.
Why is it so dangerous to be guided by feelings? Often you are manipulated using your feelings. One of the most common ways is to impose a feeling of guilt or a sense of duty. So, for example, some sellers first give you a gift, and then cheat you into buying completely unnecessary things, or people instill a feeling of guilt, and then demand that you atone for it for the rest of your adult life.
CONTROL OVER YOURSELF
Two common myths, one about leaving your comfort zone and the other about turning off your head, only lead to psychological confusion. Maslow's pyramid
Psychologists are skeptical about Maslow. Or rather, not like that. His pyramid makes me laugh, but everyone has their own reason to laugh.
Before we can understand these reasons, we need to understand the pyramid. Maslow believes that:
At the base of the pyramid are vital needs related to physiological and mental health. They are what make a person alive:
- satisfaction of hunger;
- thirst satisfaction;
- safety satisfaction;
- presence of sexual desire;
- confidence, lack of fear.
