Maxim's mother Yulia is raising him alone. She also has a 16-year-old daughter and a grandmother with cancer. Since Maxim was hospitalized, the eldest daughter has had to live with her grandmother.

Maxim was included in the risdiplam treatment program from the age of two months - this is the first registered drug in Russia in the form of a syrup for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy in adults and children from two months. During his year and three months, Maxim went through intensive care, pneumonia, hospital infections, and daily painful procedures.
