The regional stage of the family agricultural competition “Lord of the Village 2018” for the Sagan family from Prudok ended with a fair victory. Creatively, with enthusiasm and confidence in their abilities, the married couple approached an interesting competition. She made a great impression on the jury and the audience: a friendly, open, sincere couple with a good sense of humor.

Today we are talking with Ekaterina Yuryevna - a happy wife and mother - about love, family happiness, raising children...

– It would be interesting to know the history of your family. How did two loving hearts meet?

– I myself come from the village of Bykhovsky district, Mogilev region. After school, I entered the Mogilev Library Technical School, finished my studies and, as part of my assignment, came to work at the Prudkovsk Library. This is where I met my husband. At that time he had just returned from the army on leave. Soon we had a wedding and settled down a little. Today we already have three children: nine-year-old Nazar, five-year-old Alena and the youngest, one-year-old Polina. We are building a house and hope that soon our large family will live in it. My husband works at the Mozyr Variety Testing Station.

– Today only a few people decide to have a large family. Some say that there are not enough financial resources to give birth to a second or third child, some are sure that raising children is very difficult, some are afraid to become a mother again for reasons of poor health. You have three children. How did you decide to have a big family?

– This is our mutual desire: we love children, we are interested in them. We live cheerfully and amicably. Of course, you cannot do without difficulties in life. But I am convinced that everything can be overcome. The main thing is to have love and trust, as well as health. Everything material will be added - this is something that is acquired...

– You spoke about love and trust. Is this the secret to your happy marriage?

- You can say so. Without deep feeling, it is impossible to forgive a person or trust him. Therefore, I believe that the main thing in a family is love. I also think there is nothing wrong with habit. She holds the family together. Trust, patience, agreement with each other on the most important issues.

– Indeed, when both agree with each other, this is a guarantee that there will be peace in the family. How do you seek mutual understanding on material issues?

“We have this model: my husband brings money into the house, and I distribute it. I try to do it wisely. For example, once a month we go shopping in the city. I write a list of necessary products and other things in advance. It's much more practical than going to the store every day. The husband knows that the family will be fed, clothed, and everyone will have everything they need.

– One of the competitions in the “Lord of the Village” competition was sports. Are you a sports family in everyday life?

- Yeees! We love sports. If we are offered to participate in some competitions, we always agree. I really love volleyball. My husband is good at all sports, but football is especially close to him. The eldest son is also interested in football.

– So you don’t have problems with Internet addiction, when children sit at home using gadgets all the time?

- No, this is not about us. The Internet is generally strictly prohibited. And we periodically allow our eldest son to play games. But this happens exclusively on weekends and for one hour, no more. It is impossible to achieve anything from children with bans alone. We explain how excessive computer use is harmful to both your eyesight and your psyche. It's important to talk to children.

– How do you try to raise your children? Are there any strict rules?

– Of course, as in any family, there are prohibitions and punishments for wrongdoing. But most importantly, we try to ensure that our children grow up friendly, so that they are always ready to come to each other’s rescue, so that they can support each other and console each other. I have two sisters in my family, my husband has two brothers. We are all friends with each other, we grew up together, we spent all our time together. Your own example is the best method of education. Today we tell our children about how important it is to be friends with our relatives, they see our relationship, feel how we communicate.

We also teach children to be independent. We teach how to carefully fold clothes and belongings, make the bed, and help with other tasks. So, for example, yesterday my middle daughter weeded in the garden with me. I want that later, when the children grow up, in their families they take care of loved ones. Lying on the sofa indifferent to everything is something that should not happen in adult life.

– In your family, men don’t lie on the sofa?

– (Smiling) We help each other. And our dad is involved in family affairs, just like mom. If we work, then together, if we go to the river or to a city park, then also together. We try to spend time as a family. It is important. Our grandparents also help us, for which we are very grateful.

– Life in the village... What is it like? Have you ever thought about changing it to a city one?

- Not really. We grew up in the countryside and worked the land since childhood. We don't need to get used to something new. And Prudok is located not far from the city - it is not a remote village. We are working in the garden. My mother-in-law has a large farm, which we all look after together. And we enjoy this work; it is not a burden to us. That’s why we decided to build in the countryside, as it somehow doesn’t appeal to the city.

– You have three children, a husband, building a house, a vegetable garden, farming... How do you manage everything?

– Nothing complicated – everything has its time. I plan my day wisely while I have the opportunity, because I am on maternity leave. In the morning I prepare dinner, by mid-afternoon I put the youngest to bed, and in the evening, when the heat subsides, I can work in the garden. When older children go to school and kindergarten, it will be easier. But I always liked being with children.

– You approached the competition creatively. It was clear that participation in it was not for show. You were really interested. Who is the generator of creative ideas in your family?

– Working in a library today is impossible without a creative spark. There we hold competitions and various events. So I have some experience. And my husband is happy to help bring all our ideas to life.

– Do you have two daughters growing up? How would you like to see them in the future? In your opinion, what should a real woman be like?

- Loving. Good. Faithful. I want my girls to be happy in their future families, so that they grow up to be worthy people and respect their parents.

– What is unacceptable for a woman?

– I think, first of all, drunkenness and other bad habits. This is wrong and ugly.

– Do you often meet such women?

– I don't focus on it. Of course, there are drinkers everywhere, probably in every village. But I'm far from it. I have many positive moments in my life that are much better to focus on.

– So, in essence, you are a person of good mood? I'm talking about optimism...

- Certainly! Both my sisters and I go through life with a smile. This attitude is probably in my blood. And I am very glad that I can enjoy life in all its manifestations, notice even the smallest joys.

– What would you wish for our youth, because all of their representatives dream of happy families?

– Before the wedding, you should take a close look at each other, not rush. And then you need to learn to hear your life partner, forgive, be the first to make concessions, then peace and harmony will reign in the family.
