“You can’t trust anyone... You can trust me.” Quotes from heroes Leonid Bronevoy

Today marks the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of the USSR Leonid Semenovich Bronevoy. Vesti FM columnist Grigory Zaslavsky talks about an actor who knows how to pronounce common truths with feeling, sense and balance.

“War is no joke... War is war!” - the words of the Duke of Hanover from the film by Mark Zakharov “It’s unlikely that anyone would remember that same Munchausen, despite all their genius and all the second and third meaning that is embedded in all the texts of Grigory Gorin. Leonid Semenovich Bronevoy is the actor who, with his charm, adds this second and third meaning to every word he utters. From the quotes with which his roles are full, one could probably compose a whole brochure, but the words themselves will quickly lose their shine, it’s just like with sea pebbles, they sparkle precisely thanks to Bronevoy, and we read even when - we remember how he pronounces these words in “Formula of Love”, in “Seventeen Moments of Spring”, in “That Same Munchausen”, in “Pokrovsky Gates”... “Clarity, Stirlitz, is one of the forms of complete fog.” Or: “You can’t trust anyone, Stirlitz, not even yourself... I can”... Well, the word “fingers” - which contains Muller’s humor, at this very moment it is finally clear what a terrible beast is, ready to rush and tear our Maxim Maksimovich Isaev is hidden behind this juir and bon vivant, a socialite who devoted all his ardor and talent entirely to his terrible work.

For the last year and a half, he has not gone on stage, having suffered a heart attack in Kiev, he remained there and rarely comes to Moscow, so the anniversary is not an extra reason to convey our love and good wishes to the actor, first of all, of course, health.

Bronevoy is one of those rare actors whose role was previously called reasoner. Not the main character, he appears when it is necessary to pronounce some important truth, to return the hero to the true path. Rarely is an actor able to pronounce a hackneyed truth in the way that Bronevoy always manages to do - he returns meaning to words and in his mouth every banality again sounds like a revelation, because this is the truth, it has, of course, been erased from frequent use, but has not ceased to be the truth? !

The son of an enemy of the people, a boy who, as a child, was taught to play the violin in one of the best music schools not only in the USSR, but also in the world at the Kiev Conservatory, he returned with his mother to Kiev just before the war, in 1941, and could have disappeared in ghetto, they miraculously managed to evacuate to Chimkent, and he received his first theatrical education in Tashkent. A lot of different miracles happened in his life - well, isn’t it a joke that it was he who played the SS chief best of all? In 1953, after the death of the leader, he went to Moscow and entered the Moscow Art Theater School, after which he ended up in Grozny, played in Irkutsk, Voronezh, until he met the main director - Efros, his second main director was Mark Zakharov, for for which such an actor-mascot is extremely important in the troupe. For many years, Tatyana Peltzer was such an actress for Zakharov, and for the last 25 years it has, of course, been Broneva. Watching him play Firs is a special pleasure. So I really want this to happen again.
