The power of thought

One of America's greatest optimists, Dale Carnegie, noted that happiness does not depend on who you are or what you have:

“Remember happiness doesn't depend upon who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think.”

In his opinion, happiness depends only on what you think. In other words, if you decide to be happy, then nothing can stop you, and you choose the criteria for happiness yourself. Pay attention to the following constructions: “who you are”, “what you have”, “what you think”. They seem to begin with a question word, but the word order is atypical for a question. The point is that these questions are “embedded” in another sentence and therefore take the form of statements.
